Didn't you get the memo?!!!  This blog is old!!!

Yes, its true.  After almost 4 very faithful years together,  Xanga and I are ending our relationship.  We both agree that its for the best.  I've been needing change for a while now!  Here at the brink of many major changes in my life ... the new blog will be a symbol for me.  It represents the beginning of a new journey for me ... while serving as a documentation of my personal and professional life (which often blend together because I love my life and I love my work.)

I am having photo shoot this week with my friend Jen ... and I am really excited to get some new shots of just me!  Once I have those ready to go, I will create a welcome message at the top of the new blog - and Matt, my webdesigner, will link the new blog to the website.  Until then its not quite finished ... but Im so ready to start blogging and Im tired of making you wait for it ... sooooo

a very bad blogger

Oh friends ... I do apologize for being such a blog slacker lately.

Don't be fooled ... just because there has been nothing going on here at the blog that does not mean that there has been nothing going on here in my world.  Quite the contrary!

If any of you are in touch with me on facebook - then you already know - we moved!  So the last three weeks have been pretty occupied with packing, lugging boxes, unpacking, hoisting and scooting heavy furniture, picking out new furniture, finding the perfect spot for every picture frame and every trinket ... whew!

We are still in Knoxville - I just moved from South to North.  Yes!  We are now in the historic 4th and Gill area.  We don't exactly how old this house is - but we are guessing like 90-100 years.  So its this incredible old historic home with hard wood floors, pocket doors, a fire place in every room ... and LOTS MORE SPACE!!!!  We desperately needed more space!  I am waiting on a few more items before I do some official photos.  I will share those here as soon as I have them.  I am also planning to do a house warming party ... so if anyone is interested in that let me know which Friday or Sunday in March you're available.

Also I want to announce that this will be the last official blog posted here at xanga.  When I move - I move everything!  Don't be sad ... the new blog is going to be fantastic!  Its not quite ready yet - but I will be sure to post the new link as soon as its live.  You're going to love it!

And here are just a couple pictures of my darlings ... loving their new house ...

Blest ...

Ashlee and Amber are the nieces of one of my very best friends in the whole world - Jamie.  Last year I photographed both girls so if they look familiar - that's why.

So ... these two girls and their friend Jared have decided to take their talent as gospel singers to the next level.  They are working on their first CD ... and of course they need some photos!

So ... I took them to one of my favorite locations ...

little girls ... little girls ...

Most of you probably don't realize that I actually have a degree in Theatre ... so the title of this post is a reference to one of my favorite musicals ever:  Annie.  You know - the orphan with the red curly hair.  If you were a fly on the wall at my house ... you would definitely hear me singing random songs from this play on a regular basis.  In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if even by now my neighbors know every line to "Its a Hard Knock Life" or "Dumb dog!  Why are you following me .... I don't have a CRUMB DOG!  Why won't you just let me be ... DUMB DOG LA LA LA LA LA LA ...."  They're not really the kinds of songs you can sing quietly.  Even though there are so many really meaningful shows, plays, and musicals that I would love to be a part of ... oh what I wouldn't give to play Ms. Hannigan today.  Thus the title of this blog post "... every where I turn I can see them ..."  It seems like all I have been photographing lately are little girls!!!  But unlike Ms. Hannigan ... I have absolutely loved every minute of it!

Last week Fred and I visited the absolutely fabulous Lisa Foster of Lisa Foster Design todiscuss the flowers for our wedding (which we are now officially planning!!!).  But while we were there we also got to meet Lisa's brand new baby grand daughter Abigail - who is SO beautiful!!!

I photographed Brandon and Bryana's wedding this past March ... and I am so thrilled that they have officially gone from a couple to a family of three.

Precious Abigail is only two weeks old ... but she is already so strong and very advanced for an infant.

Bryana's mom, Kathy, and sister, Candice, also were in town for the week to meet Abigail - so we also did some family shots of the girls.

But for the most part it was all about Abigail ... she's so lovely ...

Elsa Marie

So I think I am going to start having Fred with me at every baby session.  Once again he impressed me with his ability to flirt, coo, and charm the little ladies.  It seems like lately we have done so many babies - and baby girls in particular - but I suppose its just because weddings are slow this time of year.  Im happy to have such lovely subjects to keep me busy!

Yesterday we met Rebecca, Ian and their new baby girl Elsa Marie.  They are such a sweet family and I really loved thier house/decor/style.  I was a little obsessed with the detail photos of Elsa's nursery ... but there were so many cute things that just got my attention.  Rebecca was an art major - so she has an incredible eye and ability to use colors.  Look at this adorable nursery ...

Something about this photo - I love.  I think its just a perfect, normal, relaxed, family portrait ...

Precious Elsa ... looking so thoughtful ... I do often wonder what babies think about ...

Elsa was very easy to photograph ... but towards the end of the session she did get a little tired ....

We put her in this chair very bundled up and she went to sleep right before my eyes.  It was just the sweetest thing ...

I LOVE it when babies fall asleep because then is the perfect opportunity for me to photograph all those baby details that I think are so special ...
